The Turning-Mark
The Turning-Mark is a side quest in the Wending Vale, offered by Thelaen.
The Kethdael left cairns where the land's grain turns. The old haul road forks at one, under an ash the lightning split. Read me what's cut on its cap-stone. And mind: something stands near the cairn that calls the blight up out of the ground. Break its call before it finishes, or don't be there when it does.

While you work
Take the south road out of Amberford. Just short of Haywood's fields, the old haul road splits and a spur runs off toward the Miners' Rest. The cairn stands in that fork, under the split ash. Read the cap-stone. Keep clear of the blightcaller, unless you mean to stop it.
On completion
A turning-mark. It says the grain runs down from here, toward the hill they mined. The Kethdael knew. They cut a warning into the stone, and the miners laid their road right over it.
