Blight surges

A blight surge is a front that spreads outward from its source, the Old Delve, along a fixed chain of farms, nearest first. The blight never skips ahead.
- A surge always hits the next farm on the front.
- If players win, the front stays where it is.
- If a farm falls, the blight has a foothold, and the next farm comes under attack only after a pause.
- Reclaiming a farm pushes the front back one step, and a reclaimed farm is safe for a while.
